Service in the Armed Forces of the USSR

In 1962 he entered the Tashkent Higher Combined Arms Command School .

In 1966 he graduated, received the military rank of lieutenant .

For active participation in the school’s sports life, good study, he got the opportunity to choose a place of service.

He was sent to the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany as commander of the MSV (motorized rifle platoon).

After 2 years he was promoted to company commander.

The company, commanded by senior lieutenant Kasymov T. Yu., Was excellent for 3 years.

In 1972, he was sent to the North Caucasian Military District for replacement as a battalion commander.

In 1973 he entered the M.V. Frunze Military Academy in Moscow .

In 1976, he successfully completed his studies and received the military rank of Major ahead of schedule.

After graduating from the military academy, he was sent by the First Deputy Commander of the Regiment to the city of Kizyl Arvat, Turkestan Military District (Turkmenistan).

In November 1978, by the order of the Ministry of Defense, the city of Termez (Uzbekistan) was appointed commander of the SME (motorized rifle regiment).

In April 1979, for the successes of the regiment in combat and political training and the state of military discipline, he was awarded the early military rank of lieutenant colonel .

Business trip to the Republic of Afghanistan

On December 25, 1979 at 15:00, the 108th motorized rifle division was supposed to make a 500 km march along the Termez – Kunduz – Salang – Charikar pass and focus on the northern outskirts of Kabul by the end of December 27 [1] .

The 180th motorized rifle regiment, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Kasymov T. Yu., Was to act in the advance detachment and ensure the unhindered advancement of the divisions and fulfillment of the tasks assigned to the division. The regiment successfully completed the task.

From February to April 1980, the 180th SME took part in 20 operations to destroy gang units.

Further military service

In November 1980, by order of the Ministry of Defense, he was appointed chief of staff of the 108th motorized infantry division , which was located in the city of Kabul [1] .

In August 1982, he was appointed to the post of Commander of the 4th Guards Division in Termez ( Uzbekistan ).

In October 1984, by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the USSR , the military rank of Major General was awarded.

In September 1988, he was appointed First Deputy Commander of the 31st Army Corps of the city of Kutaisi, Transcaucasian Military District (Georgia).

The former 40th Combined Arms Army , which was withdrawn from Afghanistan in February 1989 , was stationed in Samarkand and renamed the 1st Army Corps.

In March 1992, he was appointed commander of the 1st Army Corps.

In March 1996, he was appointed head of the Main Inspectorate of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan .

In August 1996, the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan awarded the next military rank of lieutenant general .

In the spring of 1997, Lieutenant General Kasymov T.Yu. was appointed deputy defense minister for combat training, which was established by presidential decree.

In the spring of 1998, it was decided to transform the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense into the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan .

By presidential decree, Lieutenant General Kasymov T.Yu. was appointed Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan .
