Scene Description
November 26, 2008. A group of ten young militants in a rubber boat listens on the telephone with the latest instructions of their leader, and then lands on the coast of Bombay. They immediately catch a taxi and drive off at the points they need. A young Sikh waiter Arjun says goodbye to his pregnant wife and daughter and arrives at work at the elite five-star Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. Chef Hemant Oberoi removes him from work because Arjun dropped his boots on the way, but the waiter manages to convince the boss. Guests arrive at the hotel: American David Duncan with his wife Zara Shamani and a child, a major Russian businessman Vasily Archevsky.
Meanwhile, the militants are getting down to business. Two open heavy fire from machine guns at a crowd of passengers at Victoria Station, shoot and seize a police car and go on. Twelve objects are attacked, the authorities are disoriented. Two throw a grenade at an outdoor cafe and pour bullets at visitors. Despite their youth, the hijackers are well trained and armed, everyone carries large backpacks with ammunition and explosives, each receives instructions by cell phone from a certain “Buffalo Brother”. They are going to certain death, their families must receive large payments.
Visitors to cafes and casual passers-by rush to the Taj Mahal Palace in a panic. Hotel manager Dilip orders the guards to let the crowd in. However, the survivors fell out of the fire and into the fire, two terrorists enter with them, and two more are already in the hotel. Suddenly they open fire and calmly shoot people, making no exceptions for anyone. Arjun orders visitors to the hotel restaurant to take shelter under the tables. Oberoi declares to his subordinates that all comers can leave but he will not leave the guests because "the guest is God." All his people except two agree and remain. The chef, his people and Arjun take guests to a hidden room of an elite salon with no windows and with strong doors. There they hope for the speedy arrival of the police. However, the police are not ready for such a situation, they cordon off the hotel and call the police special forces from Delhi. Five daredevils still enter the hotel, but are ambushed by terrorists. Nevertheless, two surviving inspectors injured one of the terrorists breaking into the cabin and, having exhausted their cartridges, fled from the hotel.
David, in search of his son, leaves the shelter and is taken hostage, like a small group of guests with Zara and Archevsky, who decided to take the risk and get out of the hotel. In anticipation of the attack of the special forces already arrived in the city, the terrorists mine and set fire to the hotel. Oberoi and his people take out more than a hundred survivors, but thanks to a call from one of the guests of the media, and then the terrorists learn about this retreat. Three rush in pursuit and catch up with the fugitives in the kitchen, the massacre begins. Unarmed hotel workers die trying to get people out and detain terrorists. Butler Zhomon stabs one of the terrorists, trying to save people. At this moment, special forces burst into the kitchen, pushing the terrorists away. A wounded terrorist exterminates the hostages, but spares Zara and goes under the special forces. The remaining two die, firing from behind the reception desk. Zara finds the nanny Sally, who has been hiding in the hotel with the baby all this time. Shocked by what happened, Arjun hugs Oberoi and returns to his family.
