Born in Petrograd, the grandson of the corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR M. A. Shatelen , the great-grandson of the playwright A. N. Ostrovsky [1] .
War veteran.
From 1945 to 1947 and from 1952 to 1990, he worked at the Leningrad Metal Plant (LMZ), from the beginning of the 1960s. deputy chief designer of the design department of water turbines.
Professor, taught at the technical college.
Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1967, as part of a team) - for the creation of heavy-duty radial-axial turbines of the Bratsk Hydroelectric Power Station.
Two children: son Vladimir and daughter Olga.
