Born 06/15/1930.
He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Chemical Engineering (1954).
Since 1958 he has been working at the TRINITI Research Center, since 1979 - the head of the department, since 1995 - the director of the Department of Magnetic and Optical Research - deputy director of the SSC RF TRINITI. Professor, Department of Applied Physics, MIPT.
In 1975 he defended his thesis:

Since 1983, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, in 1991 he was awarded the title of professor.
His main research interests are electrodynamic plasma acceleration and plasma dynamics, the physics of the interaction of high-intensity radiation with plasma and laser thermonuclear fusion (LTS), and the technology of high-energy lasers.
Winner of the USSR State Prize in 1986 for the creation of new methods of laser diagnostics and the study of high-temperature plasma with their help.
Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (1996).
