Biography

Die 90er Live on Stage 2016

The project was conceived by Belgian producers Jean-Paul De Coster (Jean-Paul DeCoster) and Phil Wilde (Phil Wilde) and gained worldwide fame with performers Ray Slijngaard (Ray Slijngaard) and Anita Dot (Anita Daniëlle Doth). Over 5 years of performances, 2 Unlimited gained worldwide success: 16 hits of the group (including “ Get Ready for This ”, “ Twilight Zone ”, “ No Limit ”, “ Tribal Dance ” and “ Let the Beat Control Your Body ”) got into the charts of various countries, and the total circulation of the group's drives exceeded 18 million. [one]

In 1996, both members left the group. In 1998, the second composition did not gain its former fame and popularity, and in 1999 the project was closed.

On April 11, 2009, Ray Sleingard and Anita Dot performed together for the first time in 13 years at the concert “I Love The 90s”, held in the Belgian city of Hasselt . In January 2010, they recorded the single “In Da Name of Love” [2] , and in 2011 - “Nothing 2 Lose” (the soundtrack to the action movie “ Dark Amsterdam ” [3] ) - and released them under the name Ray & Anita [4 ] . On July 11, 2012, it was announced that Ray & Anita would again work with De Coster, formerly known as 2 Unlimited [5] .

In 2010, Anita was diagnosed with breast cancer , but she continued to perform with Ray as much as possible. In 2011, after chemotherapy courses, the disease receded [6] .

In 2013 and 2014, 2 Unlimited gave a series of recitals, and also took part in the Acceleration 2014 festival, which includes auto and motorcycle races combined with concert performances [7] , as well as the “Super Discotheque of the 90s” in Russia [ 8] .

Since 2016, the duo has a new vocalist Kim Vergouwen. Anita Dot leaves to improve health and do solo work .
