Biography
He studied agriculture at the University of Minnesota . Farmer, worked at the Ministry of Agriculture from 1963 to 1968.
Bergland was a member of the House of Representatives from 1971 to 1977.
He served as chairman of the Farmland World Trade board of directors until 1982, and served as vice president and general manager of the National Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives.
In 1994, Bergland was elected by the Legislature of Minnesota as a member of the Council of Regents of the University of Minnesota.
