Biography

Viktor Ivanovich Trushlevich in 1913 graduated from Tomsk Technological Institute , receiving a diploma of mining engineer. In 1914, he was sent to the United States , where he spent a year and a half, studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in Mineral Processing, after which he worked for about four months as a laborer in a mine in Canada .

Upon returning to Russia from the end of 1915, he served six months in the technical department of the board of the Lysvensky mountain district in Petrograd , then six months at a military plant in Moscow , then a year as an assistant manager of a zinc-metallurgical plant in the Ekibastus mines in the Semipalatinsk region ; then for over a year he served in Kopikuz in the secretariat of the Technical Bureau for the construction of a metallurgical plant. At the beginning of 1919 he transferred to the service in Omsk in the Mining Department. After the revolution, he entered the Siberian Economic Council, the commission for the inspection of factory enterprises, then worked as the head of the Siberian Regional Bureau of Accounting and Distribution of Technical Forces.

Since 1923 - in Moscow, teaches at the Moscow Mining Academy . He worked as an assistant to the rector of the Moscow State Academy Academician I.M. Gubkin [1] , taught the course "Enrichment of natural resources". In 1926-27 - Head of the MGA flotation laboratory. Since 1929 - Professor at the Department of Mineral Processing. After the division of the Moscow State University into six independent universities in 1930, he was a professor at the Moscow Mining Institute (now the Mining Institute of NUST MISiS ).

From 1941 to 1944 V.I. Trushlevich worked at the Mining and Metallurgical Institute in Alma-Ata , at the same time created an enrichment laboratory in the Kazakh branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences and developed a flotation technique for beryllium and vanadium, for which he was twice awarded a diploma of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR . In 1944, V.I. Trushlevich defended his doctoral dissertation. From 1944 to 1952, he worked at the Moscow State Institute of Economics as the head of the department of flotation and special enrichment methods.

Professor V.I. Trushlevich completed more than 150 scientific works, of which more than 50 were published. He is the author of the first Russian textbook, Flotation, published in 1935. He was awarded the Order of Lenin and two medals.
