Biography
Born in Rostov-on-Don on November 24, 1963.
He graduated from high school number 78 of Rostov-on-Don.
He served in the Soviet and Russian armies. In recent years, he served in the military unit of the Volga Region of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Ufa, from where he went on business trips to the North Caucasus, where military operations were taking place at that time. [1] He was deputy commander of military unit 6520 for work with personnel.
He was seriously injured in a battle on July 2, 2000 during a special operation to eliminate armed criminals in Chechnya.
He died in a hospital in the city of Mozdok on July 3, 2000, and was buried in Ufa at the Southern cemetery.
He was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. [1] He was also awarded medals and the badge "For excellent service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs." [2]
On July 14, 2018 in Rostov-on-Don on the facade of school number 78 (5 Krasnoarmeyskaya St.) a memorial plaque was opened in memory of Lieutenant Colonel Mikhail Bogdanov. At the request of his mother Mikhail Gennadyevich, this initiative was made by the commander of the Southern District of the National Guard of the Russian Federation Hero of Russia, Lieutenant General Oleg Kozlov .
