Armament
Israeli infantry troops move to the battlefield either on foot, in jeeps, or on armored personnel carriers. Since the infantry consists mainly of soldiers fighting on foot, most of the weapons used are either personal or served by the weapons of the crew of the armored personnel carrier.
Personal Weapons
The personal weapons of most infantry soldiers are the M4A1 assault rifle , shortened M-16, or versions of the IWI Tavor TAR-21 assault rifle [1] . Most regular soldiers are equipped with the IWI Tavor X-95 Micro-Tavor assault rifle. [2]
In 2005, the IWI Tavor TAR-21 assault rifle was put into operation in the infantry and is currently the main infantry assault rifle. Each soldier in the operational service is also equipped with various types of hand grenades. [3]

Missile Weapons
To defeat armored targets, the infantry units of Israel use various grenades and missile weapons. The infantry units are equipped with anti - tank RPGs such as the RPG-7 , M72 LAW and the multi-purpose assault grenade launchers SMAW and B-300 . Recently, a new Matador anti-tank missile was put into operation, which turned out to be the most effective against buildings, successfully used in Operation Cast Lead .

Transport
Israeli infantry troops use various vehicles for cargo transportation, reconnaissance, troop movement, security and command and control.
Under heavy fire, troops are mainly transported by armored personnel carriers .
Regular Infantry Brigade Structure
All infantry brigades of the Israel Defense Forces are built in the same way. The brigade consists of four battalions - three regular infantry battalions and a reconnaissance battalion.
The command of the infantry brigade has always been considered a very prestigious position in the IDF. An expression of the importance of this position is the fact that seven chiefs of staff and many generals of the Israel Defense Forces once commanded one of the infantry brigades, as well as additional evidence of the importance of this position is the advancement of commanders: since the 90s, more than 90% of commanders of regular brigades were subsequently promoted.
Training
Shortly after the conscription, the infantrymen are deployed in one of the training battalions at the training base of the brigade, each of which is intended for one of the regiments of the brigade, and undergo basic military training there for 4 months, including possession of light weapons, field training and physical training.
