History
In 1973, Iran Air founded a subsidiary airline called Iran Air Tours . The new airline began regular flights in the early 1990s on domestic routes. The airline’s fleet was mainly composed of Soviet-made Tu-154M aircraft . For a while, the Yak-42D and IrAn-140-100 Faraz aircraft operated [1] . The company was also supposed to receive several Tu-204CM airplanes, but due to the US economic embargo against Iran, supported by Russia, they were not delivered at that time.
In February 2011, the Tu-154 aircraft were discontinued. Instead, McDonnell Douglas MD-82 and MD-83 aircraft were commissioned. For short periods, two A300s , one A320 , one A310 , and two Boeing 737 Classics were used . In June 2017, it was announced that the airline had signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus on the order of 45 A320neo aircraft [2] . In April 2018, the airline signed an agreement to purchase twenty Sukhoi Superjet 100 [3] . In 2018, A320-200 and A300-600 were entered into the company's fleet.
