Exocelina ibalimi (lat.) - a species of swimming beetles of the genus Exocelina ( Copelatinae , Dytiscidae ). The species name is in honor of Sentiko Ibalim , an entomologist from Papua who collected these bugs [1] .

Distribution
New Guinea Island: Papua New Guinea (Papua New Guinea: Sandaun Province, Mianmin area, ca 04 ° 55.78'S, 141 ° 38.18'E, at an altitude of 600-1200 m) [1] .
Description
Small water bugs of brown color (legs lighter, from yellowish-red to brown), body length about 4 mm (from 3.45 to 4.8 mm), rounded oval elongated body shape; matte. Antennae 11-segmented. The fifth protarzomer of males is long and narrow with more than 80 anterior setae and a posterior row of 11 long setae. Pronotum short, elytra without grooves. The wings are well developed. Associated with water. The species was first described in 2018 by Austrian coleopterologist Elena Vladimirovna Shaverdo ( Helena Vladimirovna Shaverdo ; Naturhistorisches Museum Wien , Vienna , Austria ) and German entomologist M. Balke ( Michael Balke ; Zoologische Staatssammlung München , Munich Germany ). It is included in the species group Exocelina casuarina -group, in which it is similar to the species Exocelina fume . The species name is in honor of Sentiko Ibalim , an entomologist from Papua who collected these bugs [1] [2] .
