History
The development of light-noise grenades for special units and internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine by the Kiev scientific and production enterprise Ecologist began in the early 2000s, in August 2002 the first demonstration grenades Teren-7 and Teren-7M were presented [3 ] , in 2003 they were already mass-produced [1] .
On June 10, 2004, an application was filed for a patent for the design of the Teren-7E light-noise grenade (instead of a mechanical fuse equipped with an electric detonator ) and on March 15, 2005 the patent was registered [4] .
In 2013, the cost of one Teren-7 grenade for the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine amounted to 172 hryvnias [5] , in December 2014 - from 324 to 360 hryvnias [6] .
Description
The Teren-7 hand grenade consists of a cylindrical body 135-140 mm high and 60-65 mm in diameter, a mechanical fuse screwed into the upper part, the rest of the body is filled with a pyrotechnic mixture [2] .
The fuse burning time is two seconds, after which the grenade fires with a bright flash and sound (165 ± 10 dB ), having a disorienting and demoralizing effect [2] .
The temperature range for the use of grenades is from −25 to +40 ° C. The manufacturer’s guaranteed shelf life of Teren-7 grenades is 3 years (subject to the rules of transportation, storage and use), grenades with an expired shelf life must be destroyed [2] .

Grenades "Teren-7" are available in four versions, which have the same design and differ in body material.
- "Teren-7" - a variant with a sealed plastic housing [1] , the weight of the grenade is 158 ± 15 grams [2]
- "Teren-7M" - a variant with a perforated steel case of reuse [1] , grenade weight 680 ± 50 grams
- “Teren-7E” - a variant of “Teren-7” with an electric detonator [4] , grenade mass 140–155 grams
- "Teren-7EM" - a variant of "Teren-7M" with an electric detonator [7] , grenade mass 650-680 grams
