Biography

Born on December 12, 1963 in Margilan, the sixth child in a family of workers Uraimakhun Usmanov and Rakhima Akbarova (a total of 4 brothers and 4 sisters).

Father - Uraimakhun Usmanov was born in Margilan in 1926. He worked all his life at the Margilan silk factory, and his work experience was 52 years. He was an incredibly hardworking man, and despite the fact that he was a simple worker, our neighbors, relatives and friends called us "rich", and accordingly, in my childhood I was called "daughter of the rich man," "battle of kesey." However, the fact is that in addition to the fact that dad worked at the combine, he was a skilled wood craftsman, and in his free time in the evenings in the workshop in our house he made durable and comfortable trestle beds that were sold on weekends. Sometimes he met a buyer who liked his trestle bed, but did not have enough money, he gave almost nothing. Thus, by example, our dad accustomed us all to work and zeal. And of course, thanks to the blessing of the pope and his prayers for us all, all 8 children live in prosperity and joy.
Mom Rakhimahan Akbarova was also born in Margilan in 1932. She also worked at the Margilan Silk Mill for 41 years. She was engaged in our upbringing, and of course, it was rather difficult for her to raise 8 children. It should be noted that my character is very similar to my mother's character. She, too, never gave herself an insult, she has a fighting character, and it was very important for her that all her children know the price of labor. After graduating from the conservatory, I began a professional career, continuing to serve my fans, and above all, my people, who always supported me and gave me strength for creativity and activity.

At one of the corporate events, Gavkhar Rakhimova ( Tamara Khanum ’s sister), having seen talent as a young Yulduz, took with her to Tashkent for professional training. There she taught her vocals, later introducing herself to Saodat Kabulova . After preliminary preparation, Yulduz entered the Tashkent State Conservatory and successfully graduated from it.

The collapse of the USSR came to the peak of the popularity of Yulduz in Uzbekistan. Already in the late 80s, she achieved recognition in her homeland by releasing her debut album, Maida. In 1990, she became a finalist of the first international competition " Voice of Asia " held in Almaty, taking 2nd place. Following this, having recorded the album “Alma-Alma” hit the top ten of World Music Charts Europe. Her English-Uzbek hit “I wish you were here” more than once held a high rating in the pop charts of European countries. The subsequent albums “Jannona” (1995), “I Wish You Were Here” (1995), “Binafsha” (1996), “The Selection Album” (1997), “Dunyo (1999)” made her widely known in Germany and countries Benelux At this time, Yulduz begins a tour of Europe and participates in such major festivals as " WOMAD " (England; WOMAD - English. World of Music, Arts and Dance ), "Roskilde" (Denmark) and "Live For Life" (Netherlands) . She also distinguished herself by performing in 1999 at the Dutch festival, the spectator of which was Queen Beatrix . In 2001, Yulduz Usmanova was awarded the title of “Orta Osiyo Sanat Malikashi” (“Queen of the Art of Central Asia”).

In 2011, she recorded the album “Bir Şans Ver”, in which she performed one of the songs in a duet with Serdar Ortach .

Currently, she has returned to Uzbekistan , where she also recorded an Uzbek album. Yulduz is married to Mansur Aga-oglu, who is currently her producer. She also has one daughter, Nilyufar Usmanova , born in 1987, also a singer.

Policy

Several times she was disgraced by the Uzbek authorities for criticizing the latter, for which she was forced to leave the country twice (in 1996 and 2008).

In 2008, Yulduz Usmanova emigrated to Turkey with reference to the political oppression and unrest that occurred on May 13, 2005 in Andijan (also known as Bloody Friday in the Ferghana Valley) [1] . In an interview with Radio Liberty, she condemned the instigators of the Andijan riots , by the way about civilian casualties, and called them themselves to blame. [2] . However, in her interview, Yulduz Usmanova cites problems with state control in Uzbekistan, she notes that the Uzbek government impedes her from performing concerts in Turkmenistan, with which the Uzbek authorities had troubled relations on border issues. After moving to Istanbul, she began a successful career in Turkey, recording two albums İnadım and Dünya. The latter included songs performed by a duet with Turkish stars Fatih Erkoch, Levent Yuksel and Yashar.

In 2010, in the light of Kyrgyz events , she wrote and performed a song condemning the Kyrgyz people for violence against Uzbeks living in the south of the country. There was no official release of the song, a video sequence of photographs from the riots accompanied by the working version of the song hit the network.

She openly supported the policy of the first president of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov , in an interview with the press calls him "foul" (Uzbek. Padishah ).

The secret ban imposed on the singer’s work was lifted after the death of the first president of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, on the eve of the election of Shavkat Mirziyayev as the new head of the republic. The singer began appearing on state TV [1] and announced a big recital with the program "Ey Aziz Inson" on the main stage of the country - in the Istiklol Palace, which had not performed for 11 years.
