Sergey Vasilyevich Chuykin (born November 1, 1950, Kumertau ) - Soviet and Russian dentist , doctor of medical sciences (1990), professor (1993); Honored Doctor of the Republic of Bashkiria (1998) and Russia (2008). After graduating from the Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU, 1975) he worked in the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital , and since 1976 - in the Chishminsky District Hospital. In 1983 he moved to work at the Belarusian State Medical University, where in 1990 he became head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, and in 1995 - Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry. His scientific activity is devoted to the study of dental and inflammatory diseases, as well as neoplasms and congenital malformations of the maxillofacial region. According to the Bashkir Encyclopedia , Chuykin both established “the pathogenetic mechanisms of the influence of purulent-inflammatory processes of the maxillofacial localization on the central nervous system”, and developed a method for protecting the brain from them. He is the author of over seven hundred scientific papers and the owner of two dozen patents; in 1996, he became president of the Bashkir Dental Association.
