Biography
Vasily Protopopov was born in 1770. Educated at the Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy in Moscow [1] .
At the end of the academic curriculum, from 1787 V. M. Protopopov became a teacher of the French language at alma mater [1] .
From the Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy, Protopopov was transferred to the Kolomenskoy Theological Seminary , where he taught students rhetoric [2] and was a member of the Consistory [1] . One of his students was Filaret (Drozdov) - the future largest Russian Orthodox theologian of the XIX century [3] .
Since 1794 he was a cathedral protopope in Kolomna , then a priest in Kashira (1796), Serpukhov (1796) and in Tula [1] .
Vasily Mikhailovich Protopopov died in 1810 [1] .
