Carras, Johnny

John J. Karras ; January 29, 1928, Chicago, Illinois, USA - November 6, 2008, Hinsdale, Illinois, USA), better known as Johnny Karras ( English Johnny Karras ) - American professional football player. He played for the NFL team “Chicago Cardinals” in the position of midfielder (1952). Member of the AHEPA Sports Hall of Fame (1988). He played for the team of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign , which he entered in 1946, but was soon drafted into the US Army, which lasted 18 months. In 1949 he returned to the university.
