Martti Laakso (born , ) is a Finnish classic-style wrestler , multiple winner of the Nordic championships , medalist of European and world championships, participant of the 1968 and 1972 Summer Olympics .

Performances at the Olympics
At the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City in the first round he got a draw with a fighter from the GDR Lothar Schneider . In the second round, Laaxo defeated Mexican wrestler Ponciano Contreras on points. In the next bout, his rival Leonard Dutz from Belgium was disqualified. In the fourth bout, Laaxo lost on points to the Romanian wrestler Simion Popescu , gaining 6 penalty points, dropped out of the fight and took the final 6th place.
At the 1972 Olympics in Munich, in the first fight, he won a clear victory over the fighter from Guatemala, Juan de Hernandez . In the next round, Laaxo again won a clear victory, this time over Carlos Hurtado from Peru . Laakso's third-round bout with Hideo Fujimoto ended in a draw. In the next battle with Georgi Markov, a decision was awarded to the Bulgarian by a decision of the judges. Then followed a defeat on points from the Soviet fighter Jemal Megrelishvili .
