Zabelin, Svyatoslav Igorevich

Born in 1950 in Moscow . Father - Igor Mikhailovich Zabelin (1927-1986) - writer, geographer; mother - Tamara Mikhailovna Zabelina ^[2] . In 1972 he graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Soil, Moscow State University. M. V. Lomonosov . Candidate of Biological Sciences (1979) ^{[3] [4]} . In 1976-1979 Researcher, Laboratory for Nature Conservation, Faculty of Biology, Moscow State University ^[5] . From 1979 to 1986, he held the position of Deputy Director for Research at the Syunt-Khasardag Nature Reserve ( Turkmenistan ), then worked at the Central Research Laboratory of Hunting and Wildlife Management (1986-1988), the Institute of the History of Science and Technology of the USSR Academy of Sciences ( 1989-1990) ^[6] . Co-Chair of the Council of the Social and Environmental Union ^[3] .

In September 1967 he joined the student team for the conservation of the biology faculty of Moscow State University, from 1970 to 1971 he was commander of the team; in 1970 - coordinator, from 1972 to 1979 - chairman of the Coordination Council of the Druzhin Movement for Nature Conservation, a student movement unique in the history of the USSR , which in the late 80s developed first into the All-Union and then into the International Socio-Ecological Union (ISEC) , English SEU ) ^{[7] [8] [6]} . As director of the SoEES coordination and information center from 1987 to 1992, Zabelin created a computer network that facilitated cooperation between environmentalists of the former USSR ^[8] .

From 1991 to 1993, he worked as an employee of the apparatus of the Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation on ecology and health protection A. V. Yablokov , where he drafted laws on environmental protection ^{[9] [8]} .

In 2002-2009 was chairman of the Coordinating Council of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization “Independent Environmental Rating Agency” ^[10] , and later became an expert at the Interfax-ERA Environmental and Energy Rating Agency ^[11] . By decree of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin of October 19, 2002 No. 1208 “On the composition of the Commission on Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation” was included in the Commission ^[12] . By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of November 6, 2004 No. 1417 he was included in the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights ^[13] .

Svyatoslav is married (wife - Nina Ivanovna Zabelina, born 1946, biologist); children: Zvenislava (b. 1974), Igor (b. 1974). He is fond of aquarium science ^{[3] [2]} .

In the field of scientific interests - the physiology of higher nervous activity, the behavior and biology of ants , nature conservation, environmental education, social environmental movement, prospects for social development ^[10] .
