Ashagi Qasil ( azerb. Aşağı Qəsil ) is a village in the Gulbendi administrative-territorial district of the Agdash region of Azerbaijan .

Content
Etymology
The name of the village comes from the words “ashagi” (from Azeri - “lower”) and “Casil” ( oikonym ). The name means "Lower Casil". The oikonym “Casil” itself comes from the Türkic word “cough”, meaning pasture [1] .
History
In 1926, according to the administrative-territorial division of the Azerbaijan SSR, the village belonged to the diving Agdash of the Geokchay district.
After the reform of the administrative division and the abolition of counties in 1929, the Kasil village council was formed in the Agdash region of the Azerbaijan SSR .
According to the administrative division of 1961, the village of Ashagi Kasil was part of the Kasil village council of the Agdash region of the Azerbaijan SSR [2] , but by 1977 it was subordinated to the Gulbend village council [3] .
In 1999, administrative reform was carried out in Azerbaijan and the Gyulbendi municipality of the Agdash region was established within the Gulbendi administrative-territorial district, which included the village [4] .
Geography
Ashagi Kasil is located on the banks of the Turianchay River.
The village is 2.5 km from the center of Gulbend municipality, 8 km from the Agdash district center and 235 km from Baku . The nearest railway station is Lyaki.
The village is located at an altitude of 35 meters above sea level.

Infrastructure
In the village there is an elementary school [7] , a cultural center, a feldsher-midwife station, a library, and a telephone exchange.
