Imerina ( Malag. Imerina , FR. Émyrne ) - a historical state that existed on the island of Madagascar . According to oral tradition, it developed in the XIV-XV centuries. The main population is gelding (measured).

History
In the second half of the 16th century, the reign of kings (c. 1540–75) and (c. 1575–1610) united the lands of the central part of the island ( ). Under the son of Ralambu c. (C. 1610-30), according to legend, the capital of Imerina was founded - Analamanga ( Analamanga , later renamed Antananarivo ).
Under King (c. 1667–1710), Imerina included all the territories inhabited by the merna, feudal relations were completed, the development of terrace-type irrigation agriculture, cattle breeding, crafts and trade reached a high level of development. After the death of Andriamasinavaluna, Imerina broke up into destinies, a period of unrest and civil strife began.
The end of the unrest and civil strife was laid in 1803 by King Andrianampuinimerina (1787–1810). His successor, Rama I (1810–28) annexed the remaining lands of the island to Imerina, resulting in the formation of the Kingdom of Malagasy [1] .
