Gaybatulla Magirovich Gadzhialiev (born June 30, 1991 , Mugarty ) is a Russian and Azerbaijani boxer , representative of the light and first welterweight categories. Biography

Gaybatulla Gadzhialiev was born on June 30, 1991 in the village of Mugarty, Derbent District, Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . As a child, he moved permanently to Stavropol , studied at the local secondary school No. 7. He played for Azerbaijan at boxing competitions.

Amateur career

The first serious success at the international level was achieved in the 2007 season, when he joined the Azerbaijani national team and attended the World Cadet Championships in Baku, from where he brought the silver dignity award won in the standings of the featherweight category - he was stopped by the representative of Uzbekistan in the decisive final match Uktamjon Rakhmonov . A year later, he won a silver medal at the President’s Cadet Cup in Baku. A year later, he became the bronze medalist of the youth tournament in Poland, received bronze at the European Youth Championship.

In 2011, in the lightweight category he won the boxing championship of Azerbaijan and since that time he played at the adult level. In particular, he took bronze at the Bochkai Cup in Debrecen, losing to the Russian Petro Khamukova in the semifinals, became the bronze medalist of the European Championships in Ankara , performed at the World Championships in Baku , where he was defeated by Ukrainian Denis Berynchik at the quarter-finals. Also from that moment on, he regularly took part in match meetings of the World Series of Boxing League, and represented the Azerbaijan Baku Lights team here.

Thanks to a series of successful appearances, he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , but already in the start duel of the category up to 64 kg with a score of 16:19 he was defeated by Tunisian Abderrazak Khuya and immediately left the fight for medals [1] [ 2] .

After the London Olympics, Gadzhialiyev remained in the boxing team of Azerbaijan and continued to take part in major international competitions. So, in 2013, he won the international tournament “The Great Silk Road” in Baku, performed at the European Championship in Minsk and at the World Championship in Alma-Ata . As a student, he went to represent the country at the Summer Universiade in Kazan , but already in the 1/8 finals he lost to Russian boxer Rajab Butaev .

In the future he played exclusively in the WSB league, was noted here by victories over such famous boxers as Yasniel Toledo , Vincenzo Manjacapre , Luis Arcon and others.

He won bronze at the 2016 Azerbaijan Championship, losing to Iman Ahmedli in the semi-final of the welterweight [3] .

Professional career

Unable to qualify for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , Gadzhialiev left the location of the Azerbaijani team and in June 2016 he successfully made his debut on a professional level. At first he boxed in the United States, then returned to Russia and continued his career in his homeland - while he always won out of all the fights.

In November 2018, at the RCC Boxing Promotions tournament, he met with strong Russian prospect Georgy Chelokhsayev (15-1-1) in the fight for the vacant EBP light welterweight title - knocked down in the first round, but held out until the end of the fight, losing unanimously by decision of the judges [4] .
