Lyuvers - a type of accessories for products of haberdashery , shoe, clothing and printing industry [1] . The grommet is designed to strengthen the edges of the holes used for threading ropes, cords , braid , cables , etc. A block-like product is similar to the grommet (in printing it is known as “piccolo ring”).
The grommet consists of a metal or plastic shaped sleeve and washer . When mounting, the eyelet sleeve is inserted into the hole on one side, and on the other, the washer is put on it and secured by the flare of the sleeve.
Blochka differs from the eyelet lack of washers. It is mounted in the hole only due to the flaring of the sleeve itself.
Historically, the term came from the sailing case: the grommet is called a hole in the sail , twined with a string or reinforced with a metal ring, which serves to thread parts of standing or running rigging into it .
Eyelets are used in the manufacture of belts made of cloth and (less often) leather, in the construction of parachute systems, in the production of various types of awnings (for tourism, for leisure and commerce, for trucks, etc.), in footwear production, in advertising for fastening of banners and banners through the streets, paperwork (binding and sealing of papers), etc.
