Govorin Nikolai Vasilievich (born December 29, 1952 , the village of Nerchinsky Zavod , Chita Region , USSR ) is a Russian state and public figure, deputy of the State Duma of the VI and VII convocations, member of the United Russia fraction , deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee for Health Protection [1] .

Biography
In 1976 he graduated from the Chita State Medical Institute with a degree in Psychiatrist. In 1982 he graduated from correspondence postgraduate study at the Moscow Research Institute of Psychiatry. After finishing graduate school, he defended his Ph.D. thesis at the Moscow Research Institute of Psychiatry in 1983. In 1992, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Clinical patterns and immuno-biological mechanisms of the formation of therapeutically resistant conditions in paranoid schizophrenia" at the Research Institute of Social and Forensic Psychiatry. From 1976 to 1981 he worked as a resident physician, head of the department of the regional psychiatric hospital. From 1982 to 1986 he worked as an assistant in the Department of Psychiatry of the Chita State Medical Institute. From 1986 to 1991 he worked as an assistant professor of psychiatry, deputy dean of the medical faculty of the Chita State Medical Institute. Since 1992, he worked as the head of the department of psychiatry, narcology and medical psychology of the Chita State Medical Academy. From 2009 to 2015, he served as vice-rector for postgraduate education at the Chita State Medical Academy [3] .
In 2011, he ran for the State Duma of the VI convocation, but did not become a deputy. In 2015, he became a deputy of the State Duma after receiving the vacant mandate of Tamerlan Kimovich Aguzarov, who had resigned ahead of schedule [4] [5] .
September 18, 2016 he was elected to the State Duma of the VII convocation in the Chita single-mandate constituency No. 43 [6] .
Legislation
From 2011 to 2019, during the exercise of the powers of a deputy of the State Duma of the VI and VII convocations, he co-authored 194 legislative initiatives and amendments to draft federal laws [7] .
