Biography

Born in Kharkov in 1933, in 1942 he moved to Podolsk. He graduated from the vocational school of the Podolsk factory named after Kalinin, since 1949 he worked at the factory as a turner, locksmith and adjuster of calculating machines [1] .

He participated in competitions in classical wrestling, performed at the championships of the RSFSR and the USSR. In 1951 he switched to coaching on wrestling. During his work, he brought up more than 40 masters of sports of the USSR, 2 masters of sports of international class, dozens of winners and prize-winners of the championships of the USSR and the RSFSR [1] . Among the students of Boris Uchitel was the European champion in classical wrestling Vladislav Ivlev [2] .

He headed the Moscow region wrestling team, twice with the team he won gold medals of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR. He was a member of the Presidium of the Wrestling Federation of the RSFSR. Later he worked as the director of the gym in the Lepse Palace of Culture [1] .

In 2004, Boris Teacher was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the city of Podolsk [3] .

Boris Uchitel died on March 16, 2012. A memorial plaque was installed on house 28A on Yubileynaya Street, where he lived. [4] Since 2013, a youth tournament has been held in Podolsk, dedicated to the memory of Boris Uchitel [1] .
