National Information Agency of Tajikistan “Khovar” ( Tajik. Agency of Millions of Ittilothia Toqiston “Khovar” ; Eng. National information agency of Tajikistan “Khovar” ), abbr. NIAT “Khovar” ( Tajik. AMIT “Khovar” ; English “Khovar” NIAT ) is the central state news agency of Tajikistan . The oldest news agency in Tajikistan. The main office of the agency is located in the center of Dushanbe , on Rudaki Avenue. Also in the regions and cities of Tajikistan and in foreign countries (for example, Russia , Iran , Turkey , Germany , the USA ), there are agency correspondents. The word Khovar from the Tajik and Persian languages is translated as the East .

The official website and news of the agency are available in Tajik , Russian , English , Persian and Arabic , previously had a version in Uzbek . At the NIAT "Khovar" operates the radio station "FM Khovar".
On December 31, 1925, a branch of the Russian Telegraph Agency (ROSTA) was opened in Dushanbe (then the capital of the Tajik Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic within the Uzbek SSR ) . A few years later, the Tajik branch of ROSTA was turned into the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA). In the Soviet years, TajikTA was the largest news agency of the Tajik SSR, had an extensive network of correspondents and photo correspondents throughout the USSR .
After the collapse of the USSR and independence of Tajikistan , on April 10, 1992, TajikTA was transformed into the Tajik Information Agency Khovar (TIA Khovar). April 30, 2004 was renamed the National News Agency of Tajikistan “Khovar”. The Tajik National News Agency Khovar is one of the most respected news agencies in Tajikistan, the main source of official news.
