St. Nicholas Cathedral , or St. Nicholas Church , the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Kharkov is an Orthodox church built in 1896 according to the project of the Kharkov diocesan architect V. Kh. Nemkin in the Russian-Byzantine style . Named in the name of St. Nicholas of Myra .

It was opposite the current Vedmedik store on the opposite side of Nikolaevskaya Square , which was named after the cathedral.
It was demolished in 1930 - according to the official version, in connection with the laying of a tram line turning from the square to Pushkinskaya street (before the trams went from Moskovsky Prospekt through the steep climb of Korolenko lane.
Historical Facts
Anton Ivanovich Denikin, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the South of Russia, immediately after the capture of Kharkov by the Volunteer Army in June 1919, attended a solemn prayer dedicated to the liberation of the city, in the square in front of the cathedral.
