Biography

Born July 28, 1956 in the city of Grozny . In 1977, Zhidkov graduated from Chechen-Ingush State University with a degree in physical education teacher. After graduation, he worked as a turner at the Krasny Molot factory in Grozny. In 1978-1980, he served in the army. From 1980 to 1983, Zhidkov served as head of the department of the Grozny city executive committee, he also worked in the committee for physical education and sports of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic .

Since 1984, after graduating from the Higher Courses of the KGB of the USSR in Minsk ( Sergey Ivanov studied there a few years earlier), he served in the state security organs and headed the Vedeno department of the KGB in Chechen-Ingushetia.

In 1991, after Dzhokhar Dudaev came to power in Chechnya, Zhidkov was forced to move to Moscow. Since 1992, he was an employee of the security service of the foreign economic association "Self-government" under the Ministry of Trade of the Russian Federation .

Since 1995, Zhidkov served as vice president, head of the economic security department of the Association of Law Enforcement Workers of the Russian Federation in Moscow, led by adviser to the president of the Russian Federation Aslanbek Aslakhanov .

On July 21, 2001, Zhidkov was appointed mayor of the city of Grozny. The official presentation in office took place on July 23, 2001. During his two years as mayor, Zhidkov, according to media reports, rose from Colonel to FSB General. During this period, Zhidkov was attempted twice (the last case occurred on September 8, 2002). After the election of the President of Chechnya in the summer of 2003, the new head of the republic, Akhmad Kadyrov , dismissed Zhidkov.

After the attack on the festive parade in Grozny on May 9, 2004 , as a result of which Akhmad Kadyrov was killed at the city stadium, Zhidkov became deputy plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District Vladimir Yakovlev . The press called Zhidkov one of the most likely candidates for the post of new head of the republic in the presidential elections in Chechnya on August 29, 2004 , in which, however, Alu Alkhanov won.

Since the beginning of 2006, Zhidkov took over as chief federal inspector for Chechnya. After the dismissal of the head of the Chechen government Sergey Adamov in February 2006, Zhidkov was considered as a real alternative to Ramzan Kadyrov . Zhidkov himself refuted the assumption that he could replace Abramov. According to him, if Abramov does not return to Chechnya, it will be quite logical if the government is headed by Kadyrov, since it is he who will be able to make the apparatus work.

In mid-2006, Zhidkov was appointed deputy head of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC). He was called one of the candidates for the post of Prime Minister of Chechnya. In 2008, Zhidkov was mentioned in the press as a major general.
