Functions

The Nuf2 protein , together with SPC25 and SPC24, is included in the NDC80 heterotetrameric complex of the outer kinetochore plate associated with the centromere. It plays a critical role in the separation of chromosomes and spindle activity during cell division [3] .

Structure

The protein consists of 464 amino acids, a molecular weight of 54.3 kDa. The N-terminal portion (1–385) interacts with the N-terminal portion of NDC80 , the C-terminal portion (386–464) is connected to the C-terminus of NDC8 0 and to the SPC25 / SPC24 subcomplex .
