Squalus clarkae (lat.) - a species of sharks from the katran family. It lives in the Gulf of Mexico and the western part of the Atlantic Ocean . It was described in 2018 and named after the ichthyologist Eugene Clark [1] [2] .

The length of Squalus clarkae varies from 50 to 70 cm [3] .
Live Science magazine described the appearance of a shark as a cross between an alien and an anime character [3] [4] .
