Functions

Ndc80 forms a heterotetramer with proteins of the external kinetochore NUF2 , SPC25, and SPC24 . The resulting protein complex contains domains that bind to microtubules [4] . Ndc80 is involved in the signal paths of the fission spindle , which ensures error-free chromosome separation during cell division by detecting chromosomes unrelated to both poles and delaying prometaphase until all chromosomes are located in the mitotic plate [3] .

Interactions

NDC80 binds to the MIS12 , [5] [6] NEK2 [7] [8] and PSMC2 proteins . [8]
