Teimuraz Shashiashvili ( Georgian. შაშიაშვილი ; born June 20, 1951 , Kutaisi , Georgian SSR ) - Georgian state and political figure, authorized by the President of Georgia (governor) in the Imereti region from 1995 to 2003, mayor of Kutaisi from 1993 to 1995 .

Biography

Born June 20, 1951 in Kutaisi .

He graduated from high school number 27 in Kutaisi, received a higher education at the Georgian State Polytechnic Institute named after V.I. Lenin . After graduating from high school from 1967 to 1972, he worked in the printing house of Kutaisi, then was at Komsomol work.

From 1989 to 1991, he was chairman of the executive committee of the Kutaisi city council.

In the parliamentary elections held on October 11, 1992, he was elected to the Georgian Parliament [1] . From 1993 to 1995, he was the first mayor of Kutaisi, during his tenure there are battles during the civil war near Kutaisi and the organization of defense of the city, as well as the inclusion of the Bagrat temple and Gelat monastery in Kutaisi on the UNESCO World Heritage List .

Since 1995, he served as the authorized president of Georgia (governor) in Imereti Territory. On October 20, 1998, during the rebellion, Akaki Eliava was taken hostage by the rebels [2] . After the revolution, the roses resigned. He participated in the 2004 presidential election , according to the results of which he took second place, having received 1.85% of the vote [3] .

In 2009, he founded the Tetrebi party, which took part in the parliamentary elections in 2012 , but to no avail [4] .

In 2018, he was again nominated in the presidential election , according to the results of which he received 0.60% of the vote [5] .

He is the author of more than 40 scientific papers and articles. Married, has three children.
