Ivanov, Nikolai Fedorovich (writer)

Nikolai Ivanov was born in the village of Strachevo, Bryansk region. Mother Anna Grigoryevna - partisan, grandfather - commissar of the partisan detachment, died during a breakthrough of encirclement in 1943. Father Fyodor Agapievich, a front-line soldier, sergeant, and machine-gun commander Maxim, was wounded near Koenigsberg. After the war, parents are a primary school teacher, an electrician on a collective farm.

After graduating from the eight-year school, he entered and graduated from the Moscow Suvorov School (1971-1973, where he became the foreman of a company at the age of 15), and the Journalism Department of the Lviv Higher Military-Political School (1977). He began his service in the Airborne Forces as a career officer (60 parachute jumps) - in the Pskov and Kaunas divisions, the 44th Airborne Training Division (Ionava, Lithuania). In 1981, sent to Afghanistan ^[2] . He served in the Vitebsk (Kabul) VDD. He participated in more than ten combat operations. He was awarded the Order "For Service to the Homeland in the Armed Forces of the USSR" III art. (1982), the medal "For Courage" (1983), a mark of the Komsomol Central Committee "Military Valor." After serving in the DRA, he repeatedly flew there as a war correspondent, a participant in Operation Highway.

The first publication is the story “My Friend Lyoshka” in the collection of Pskov writers “Dawn over the Great” (1978).

In 1985, with the rank of captain, he was appointed correspondent of the military essay and journalism department of the Soviet Warrior magazine, three years later he became editor of the department and a member of the journal’s editorial board. In 1989, when the Studio of Military Writers was created (the head is Viktor Verstakov , the art director is I.F. Stadnyuk) he moved to the Studio. Then the first novel “Operation“ Storm “to start earlier” was released. In 1991 he was appointed editor-in-chief of the magazine "Soviet Warrior". In 1992, by order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation P. Grachev, he was forced to change the name of the magazine - it was renamed “I have Honor”. In October 1993, refusing to publish materials in support of the shelling of the White House, was dismissed "for low moral qualities" and was retired from the Armed Forces by the lieutenant colonel. He continued his service in the tax police of Russia. Colonel of the Tax Police ^[3] (since 1993). During a business trip to Chechnya in June 1996, he was captured by militants, where he survived the horror of underground prisons and repeated deductions for execution, being dropped alive to the grave, was released after 4 months as a result of a special operation. After 2 years, he returned to Chechnya, where he participated in the creation of the newspaper “Chechnya Svobodnaya” ^[4] .

After the dissolution of the tax police of Russia in 2002, he quit his organs, worked for some time at the Rosavtodor News Agency (magazine “Roads of Russia of the 21st Century”, press secretary of Moscow government routes (Dorinvest), in the magazine “Moscow Region”.

As a war journalist and writer, he traveled to Chechnya, Tskhinval, the Crimea, the Donbass, and Syria. With humanitarian aid, he was one of the first correspondents with the White KAMAZ trucks from Moscow to Lugansk . For more than 10 years, he has been one of the leaders of the special training courses for journalists working in extreme conditions and “Bastion” hot spots ^[5] - to prepare Russian and foreign journalists for work in extreme conditions.

Secretary, then co-chairman of the board of the Union of Writers of Russia (since 2013), general director of the Russian joint venture. Since December 2016 - Acting Chairman of the Union of Writers of Russia. On February 15, 2018, at the XV Congress of the SPR, he was elected Chairman of the Board of the Union of Writers of Russia. With 126 votes in favor and 28 against, Ivanov confidently defeated his only rival, writer Sergei Shargunov ^[1] .
