Novodanilovskaya culture is an archaeological culture of the Eneolithic era (4700–3200 BC), spread in the steppe zone from the Bulgarian Black Sea coast to the Lower Don . Named after the village of Novodanilovka in the south of Zaporozhye. It was previously considered the late stage of the Srednestogovskaya culture ( D. Y. Telegin ).
It is part of the Balkan-Carpathian metallurgical province .
Anthropological type
Five male skulls of culture (Voroshilovgrad, Mariupol burial ground ) belong to the massive protoeuropeoid type with a wide and low, slightly flattened face, rather wide nose. The male skull from Giurgiulesti is characterized by a greater dolichoquinity and a narrow nose with a high nose bridge, which brings it closer to the Mediterranean type [1] .
