Biography

Pupil of sports school of the city of Sokal, the first coach - J. Tsimborsky. In adult football, he began performing during his military service in the Transcarpathian region. In 1978, he played in the KFC competitions for the “Mechanizator” (Irshava), spent the 1979 year in the second league as part of the “ Hoverla ” (Uzhgorod), and since 1980, for one and a half seasons, he played in the first league for “Spartak” / “ Prykarpattya ” (Ivano-Frankivsk).

In the course of the 1981 season, he moved to the Dnipropetrovsk Dnipro . The debut match for the club in the highest league was played on August 8, 1981 against Chernomorets , replacing Anatoly Olenev in the 75th minute [1] . Already from the next round I became a player of the starting lineup of the club. He scored his first goal in the highest league on June 25, 1983 against Shakhtar Donetsk [2] . In 1983, he became the champion of the USSR with his team, playing all 34 matches and scoring 2 goals. In the same season, he scored 7 assists, with three of them given in the match against Zalgiris (3: 1) on September 10, 1983. Quarter-finalist UEFA Champions Cup 1984/85. Two-time bronze medalist of the USSR Championship (1984, 1985). In total, Dnipro played 147 matches (3 goals) in the Premier League, 25 matches in the USSR Cup, and 7 matches in European competitions. By the middle of the 1986 season, he stopped playing regularly at the base of Dnipro and left the team at the end of the season. Included in the top 50 players in the history of "Dnipro" according to football.ua under number 22 [3] .

In 1987-1988, he played in the first league for Kolos (Nikopol). During the 1988 season, he moved to Poltava Vorskla from the second league, then played for Zvezda (Kirovograd), and in mid-1989 returned to Kolos, who now also played in the second league.

In the season 1991/92 played in Hungary.

In the spring of 1992, he spent 14 matches in the transitional league of Ukraine for the Kirovograd "Star", after which he ended his professional career. In the 1993/94 season, he played at the amateur level for Khimik (Sokal), and for this team he played one match in the Ukrainian Cup .

After the end of his professional career he played for veteran teams, including in international competitions. He played in mini-football for Dynamo (Lviv), was also his coach. In addition, he coached amateur teams of Lviv region in big football [4] .

Personal life

The eldest in a family of three brothers, both of his brothers worked as doctors. Married The son is an economist by profession.
