Biography
Sergei Vasilievich Troyansky was born in 1901 in the city of Bogoroditsk, Tula Region, into a large family of a postal worker. He lost his father early and was forced to work since school age. He worked as a locksmith, electrician, and art teacher, while studying and participating in the work to eliminate adult illiteracy.
In 1922, S.V. Troyansky entered the geological faculty of the Moscow Mining Academy . While still a student, he worked as a geologist, and often traveled a lot around the country. He graduated from the Mining Academy in 1929. Then he worked as the party leader in the Donbass and the Moscow coal basin , and from 1940 to 1947 he was chief engineer and chief geologist at the Moscow Geological Department . At the end of August 1941, the deputy head of the department S.V. Troyansky was engaged in the evacuation from Moscow to Morshansk of the geological fund of the Moscow Geological Department.
During World War II, he carried out government tasks to provide the country's industry with refractory raw materials and aluminum. For participation in the drainage of the Moscow brown coal basin S.V. Troyansky in 1949 was awarded the title of Stalin Prize laureate - "for the development and implementation of a new method for the deep drainage of water-rich coal deposits."
Even at the beginning of the war, S. V. Troyansky was awarded the degree of candidate of geological and mineralogical sciences for the methods for predicting water inflows into mining without protection, developed and implemented in our country and abroad.
In 1946 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "The Scientific Foundations of Mining Hydrogeology." From 1947 to 1976, he headed the Department of Geology at the Moscow Mining Institute (now the Mining Institute of NUST “MISiS” ), in 1950-1954. and in 1961 he combined the head of the department with work as pro-rector of the Moscow State Institute for Academic and Scientific Work.
He died on August 1, 1983.
Scientific and educational activities
Scientific activity S.V. Troyanskogo was closely associated with the objectives of the practice, and its effectiveness was determined by extensive experience in various regions of the country - Podmoskovnoye, Sokolovsko-Sarbaisky , Donetsk , Karaganda basins, KMA , SUBR, Kazakhstan, on the island of Vaigach .
The scientific provisions of mining and hydrogeology are presented by S.V. Troyansky in the famous book "General and mining hydrogeology" (1960), which brought up more than one generation of mining engineers and geologists. Of greatest scientific and practical interest are the provisions he developed on water supply regimes and groundwater breakthroughs in mining, methods for determining water inflows (the principle of the “big” well, which was named after Prof. S. Troyansky), patterns of groundwater filtration, vertical zoning of artesian waters basins, hydrogeological classification of mineral deposits.
Hydrogeological scientific generalizations made by S.V. Trojans are regional in nature and cover the Moscow Region Coal Basin, the Moscow Region Syneclise as a whole, Central Kazakhstan , and Central Anatolia of Turkey . They are covered in the works “Artesian Carboniferous Waters of the Moscow Region Basin”, “Hydrogeological Description of the Moscow Coal Basin”, “Hydrogeological Conditions of Kazakhstan”, “Hydrogeological Essays of Turkey”, “Groundwater Resources of the USSR”.
Great erudition and enormous experience S.V. When working as an expert, the Trojan used the Technical Council of the People's Commissariat of Agriculture, Gosplan of the USSR , Gosstroy of the USSR , GKZ of the USSR and others. He lectured in many universities of the country: in Yakutsk , Irkutsk , Alma-Ata , Kharkov , Donetsk , Moscow Geological Exploration and Construction Institutes.
Recognition
Laureate of the Stalin Prize of the USSR, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR. He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor , the signs “Drummer of Minchermet”, “ Miner's Glory ” of the III degree and many medals.
