Heinz Barth ( German: Heinz Barth ; October 15, 1920 , Gransee , Weimar Republic - August 6, 2007 , Gransee , Germany ) - SS Obersturmführer , a war criminal directly involved in the massacre in Oradour-sur-Glan .

Biography
Born October 15, 1920. In 1939 he joined the NSDAP (membership card No. 7 844 901). From 1940 to 1942 he served in the SD of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . He participated in a punitive operation, which killed 92 Czechs. February 10, 1943 became a member of the SS (No. 458 037) and was sent to the Eastern Front . Then he was transferred to France , where he participated in the massacre in Oradour-sur-Glan . During the fighting in Normandy, he lost his leg.
After the war, he was hiding under a fake name in the GDR . He worked in a consumer cooperative in Gransee. In 1953, the Bordeaux court was sentenced in absentia to death. On July 14, 1981, he was arrested and brought to trial in East Berlin on charges of war crimes. On June 7, 1983, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. In September 1997, released for health reasons. Died of cancer in 2007.
