Kickering in Russia

Segway Ninebot Electric Scooters are located in Delisamokata Park. They can be rented at rental stations. In July, the service began to work in the city of Grozny [3]
The second kicksharing - “YouDrive lite” - was opened by the creators of YouDrive car sharing [4] . This is dockless kicksharing: you can start and finish renting electric scooters at city bike parks. The launch took place on May 25, 2018 in Moscow [5] .
According to the Moscow City Hall, in 2018, residents of the capital made 140 thousand trips on scooters [6] .
The term kicksharing
The term “kicksharing” comes from the English terms “kick scooter” (scooter) and “share” (share), and by analogy with car sharing (short-term car rental) means short-term rental scooters. Until May 2018, this phenomenon did not have a name in Russian. The first term “kicksharing” began to use the publication “Trushering” [7] . Then it began to be used by RBC [8] , TJournal [9] , Rossiyskaya Gazeta [10] , Auto Mail.ru [11] and other media.
On May 15, a survey was conducted among readers of the Karsherovod telegram channel dedicated to sharing, on what it is better to call a new service: self-sharing, kick sharing or kick scoring. 69% of respondents voted for kicksharing [12] . In total, there are 12,400 subscribers in the telegram channel, of which only 849 people have voted so far, on June 20, 2019, 586 people have voted for the term “kick sharing,” 226 people have voted for self-caching.
The term “self-sharing”
Another variant of the name of the scooter rental service is “self-sharing”. This option is on the 2nd place in the vote of May 15, 2018 in the telegram channel “Karsherovod”. The word "scooter" in the word self-catering speaks for itself, thereby immediately indicating the type of transport offered for rent. At the same time, the term “kicksharing” for the Russian-speaking population may be unusual and not understandable without additional explanation. Before the advent of electric scooters, scooters themselves did not roll - as a result, the rider’s leg gave the driving force. But equipped with a battery and an electric motor, the scooter finally lives up to its name, since now the engine is a part of the scooter itself and sets it in motion without outside influence.
Skolkovo launched a project of the same name “Scooter Schering” [13] [ significance of fact? ] . On the social network Instagram, the hashtag # self-sharing was used in 375 posts [14] [ significance of fact? ] , while the hashtag # kickshipping was used in 365 posts [15] [ significance of fact? ] .
