Cartoon Network ( CN , lit. Eng. - "cartoon network") is an American animated television channel , currently one of the largest television channels in the world for children’s audience. Included in WarnerMedia Corporation and is part of Warner Bros. Entertainment Broadcasting is in high definition 1080i . Moreover, the original Cartoon Network is not only a children's channel: Adult Swim is broadcast during the night broadcast, a block of animated series for an adult audience.

History
In 1980, Ted Turner, the owner of a major television company, Turner Broadcasting , bought the MGM and Warner Bros. cartoon library . for the year 1948. In 1990, he bought the animation studio Hanna-Barbera Productions . When creating, initially on the channel they showed old cartoons of the above studios. Later, in 1995, the last of them began making cartoons for the channel. In 1996, the company was bought by Time warner (now WarnerMedia ), after which the channel gained access to the entire Warner Bros. cartoon library . from the 50s to the 80s and later. WarnerMedia changed the leadership of Hanna-Barbera (now Cartoon Network). In 2001, a block for adult cartoons “ Adult Swim ” appeared.

History
Since the mid-1990s, the British version of the channel in English has been broadcast in Russia. In 1995-1997, blocks of animated series with the Cartoon Network logo (or without it) were shown on the Russian television channel TV-6 [2] . In April 2005, a Russian soundtrack appeared on Cartoon Network Europe [3] [4] . On October 1, 2009, its own version of the channel, Cartoon Network Russia and Southern-Eastern Europe (CN RSEE), broadcasting in the CIS countries and the Balkans, appeared [5] .
In 2015, analogue broadcasting began in Magnitogorsk at 37 TVKs. Cartoon Network shares time on this frequency with other broadcasters. [6]
Since December 6, 2016, the channel switched to widescreen broadcasting.
