Title
The street was named in 1970 in honor of Khusain Bagautdinovich Mavlyutov (1893-1937) - a Bolshevik, a participant in the Civil War , holder of two orders of the Red Banner of the RSFSR .
The name of the street was officially approved by the decision of the Kazan City Executive Committee No. 488 of June 9, 1970 [1] .
Location
Khusain Mavlyutova Street is located in the residential area of Gorki , running from north to south and connecting Tankovaya Street with Victory Avenue . It serves as the boundary between the 1st and 2nd, as well as the 5th and 4th micro-districts (Gorki-1); along the southern section of the street lies the eastern border of the Universiade Village .
The length of Khusain Mavlyutov Street is 2.34 km [2] .
History
Khusain Mavlyutova Street began to form in the early 1970s during the initial stage of development of the Gorki residential area. By the fall of 1977, only its northern part, from the Tankova Street to the intersection with the streets of Professor Kamai and Garifyanov , fully functioned as a transport artery (it was asphalted). By the beginning of the 1990s, Khusain Mavlyutov Street was connected to Victory Avenue.
The architectural appearance of the street was mainly formed in the 1970s - 1990s as part of the integrated development of typical nine-, ten- and fourteen-story residential buildings. Later, the remaining plots were mastered most often by the method of spot development with houses of 16 or more floors. And this process continues to the present.
The southern section of Khusain Mavlyutov Street (from Academician Parin Street to Victory Avenue) was built up in the 2000s, when the City Center shopping center was built on the east side (2003) [3] , and the Universiade Village (2009-2013) on the west side )
At the crossroads of Tankovaya and Khusain Mavlyutov streets, in the territory adjacent to the City Clinical Hospital No. 18, in 1988 a Cedar Park was laid out dedicated to Soviet soldiers who fell during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). To the south of this park, on the even side of Khusain Mavlyutov Street, lies an old protective forest belt, which during the development of the 1st microdistrict was turned into a kind of boulevard.
In the 1970s, not far from the corner of Garifyanov and Khusain Mavlyutov streets, in the territory of the children's park, on the site of the current Zilant Universal Sports Complex, a decommissioned Tu-124 aircraft was installed [4] . It was supposed to be used as a children's movie theater, but was later removed.
In 1991, next to this place, directly along Khusain Mavlyutov Street, an indoor ice arena was erected for the Kazan hockey club “Tan” [5] , sponsored by S.P. Shashurin [6] . But it was not possible to bring this project to the end. For many years, the frame of the unfinished arena stood motionless (the rink was used for its intended purpose only in the winter), but in the 2000s it was dismantled. Later, on the site of long-term sports construction began to build a residential complex "Three heroes."
