Tinjacá ( Spanish: Tinjacá ) is a city and municipality in central Colombia , within the Boyaca Department . It is part of the province of Rickaurt .

History
The settlement, from which the city later grew, was founded in 1556 [1] .
Geographical position
The city is located in the western part of the department, in the highlands of Eastern Cordillera , on the left bank of the Sutamarchan River, about 32 kilometers west of the city of Tunja , the administrative center of the department. The absolute height is 2131 meters above sea level [2] . The municipality of Tinhaka borders on the territory of the municipality of Saboya in the northwest, in the west with the municipality of Chiquinquira , in the southwest with the municipality of San Miguel de Sema , in the southeast with the municipality of Rakira , in the northeast with the municipality Sutamarchan . The area of the municipality is 79 km² [1] .
Population
According to the National Administrative Department of Statistics of Colombia, the total population of the city and municipality in 2015 was 3035 people [3] . The dynamics of the population of the municipality by years:

According to the 2005 census, men made up 51% of the Tinhaki population, women - 49%, respectively. Racially, whites and mestizos accounted for 99.96% of the city's population; Negroes , mulattoes and Raisals - 0.04% [4] . The literacy rate among the entire population was 85.6%.
Economics
53.4% of the total number of urban and municipal enterprises are trade enterprises, 35.2% are service enterprises, 11.4% are industrial enterprises [4] .
Transport
National Highway 60 passes through the city ( Spanish: Ruta Nacional 60 ).
