History
The three-altered stone church of the Trinity Life-Giving with murals was erected in 1783-1794. at the expense of the owner of the estate Pervitino seconds-major Alexander Fedorovich Shishkov. Consecrated in 1794. [2] The church is an excellent example of the provincial architecture of the late 18th century, combining the stylistic features of baroque and classicism . Its exterior classic decoration (molded wreaths with ribbons and draperies) is unique to the Tver region. The main volume of the temple is an octagon on a quadruple , the refectory was built in close connection with the bell tower . Fragments of baroque painting depicting eight archangels are preserved in the octagon of the Trinity Church.
At the beginning of the XIX century, the estate of Pervitino passed to the Khvostovs, who were closely related to the Shishkov family. Its first owner was the captain of artillery Nikolai Petrovich Khvostov. (1748-1829). Having assumed the duties of church elder, N.P. Khvostov organized with the participation of neighboring landowners the purchase of new bells, as well as the construction of a stone fence of the Trinity Church. In 1974, four towers of the stone fence of the Trinity Church were also included as an independent object in the list of cultural objects to be protected as monuments of state significance (No. 691610600190036 in the state register of monuments). [3]
After the death of N.P. Khvostov, the estate passed to his son Arseny Khvostov. In archival documents, his name is mentioned in connection with the repair of the Trinity Church. [4] In 1863, under the grandson of N. P. Khvostov, Nikolai Arsenievich Khvostov, a carved gilded three-tier iconostasis was placed in the Trinity Church.
After the revolution of 1917, the church was closed, crosses were dropped, and the domed completion of the church and bell tower were severely destroyed. The building was used for household needs, first of the Pervitinskaya commune, and then under the fertilizer warehouse of the collective farm named after F. Dzerzhinsky. The carved iconostasis of the 19th century and the interior of the church were lost. In the towers of the fence there was a kerosene shop and warehouses of a hardware store.
To date, the tops of the temple and the bell tower have been lost, the iron roof is almost absent, the external plastering of the walls has crumbled in places, the arches of the temple have begun to crumble, the refectory arch has collapsed.
Decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR No. 624 of 04/04/1974 The Trinity Church of the village of Pervitino, Likhoslavl District, Kalinin Region, was included in the list of cultural monuments to be protected as monuments of state significance.
In 2018, thanks to the efforts of the Charity Charitable Foundation named after the Monk Confessor Archimandrite Sergius (Srebryansky) in the Trinity Church, the laid openings of the church leading to the apse were dismantled, a temporary iconostasis was built, a new door to the bell tower was built, in which a chapel was organized and a service was held for the first time in a hundred years.
Restoration work in the Trinity Church was not carried out. The murals of the dome and walls are partially lost due to shedding and vandalism. An object of cultural and historical heritage of federal significance needs urgent measures to prevent further destruction.
