Lasioglossum ebmerellum (lat.) - a species of single bees of the genus Lasioglossum from the family Halictidae . Named after the Austrian entomologist Andreas Werner Ebmer (1941-), a major specialist in bees.

Distribution

North America : Canada , USA [1] .

Description

Small bees about 5 mm long. Females from 5.49 to 6.40 mm. The head and chest are bluish with a greenish metallic sheen to golden green; apical half of clypeus black-brown. Tegulae and legs reddish brown. The length of the fore wing of females is 4.58-4.64 mm. In the front wing there are 3 submarginal cells. Single bees nest in the soil. The species was first described in 2010 by Canadian entomologist Jason Gibbs ( Jason Gibbs , York University , Department of Biology, Toronto , Canada ) and is assigned to the Dialictus subgenus. Named after a scientist. Feed plants: Asteraceae ( Hymenoxys lemmonii ) [1] .
