Biography

Born March 25, 1952 in Dzhezkazgan (Kazakhstan).

He graduated from Moscow Engineering Physics Institute with a degree in Applied Mathematics (1969-1975) and graduate school of the Institute of Management Problems of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1978), in 1979 he defended his dissertation (Some aspects of the system approach in oncology: modeling, management and optimization of radiation therapy: dissertation ... Engineering Sciences: 05.13.02. - Moscow, 1977. - 149 pp.: ill.).

Since 1978 he has been working at the Scientific Research Institute of Medical Radiology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR: Junior Researcher, Senior Researcher, Head. laboratory, head department.

Since 1994, Deputy Director for Research.

In 1987, he defended his doctoral dissertation "System analysis and optimization of radiation therapy for malignant neoplasms."

Since 1996 - professor. In 2002, he was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (Department of Preventive Medicine), specializing in radiation epidemiology.

Author and co-author of more than 400 scientific papers, including 17 monographs. Member of the editorial boards of the journals: Medical Radiology and Radiation Safety, Radiobiology, Journal of Radiation Research.
