Kurt Machke ( German: Kurt Matschke May 4, 1908 , Domsel , Silesia , German Empire [1] - after 1966 ) - German officer, SS Hauptsturmfuhrer , commander of the Sonderkommando 7a . In 1966, a court in Essen sentenced him to 5 years in prison for war crimes.

Biography

Kurt Machke was born on May 4, 1908 in Upper Silesia . He studied law at the University of Breslau . In 1932 he joined the NSDAP and the SS [2] . In 1934, as a commissioner for criminal cases, he entered the Gestapo office in Lignice [2] . From December 1941 to February 1942 he was commander of the Sonderkommando 7a [3] . His unit was involved in the extermination of Jews in Belarus . Since 1942 he worked at the Gestapo in Cologne . In this position, he participated in the deportation of Jews to the concentration camps of Theresienstadt and Auschwitz [4] .

After the war

In 1948, the Burgsdorf court sentenced him to two years in prison for belonging to criminal organizations, and in 1954, a Cologne court sentenced Machke to two years in prison for involvement in the deportation of Jews to concentration camps. In 1965 he was again arrested and in 1966 by the Essen court sentenced to 5 years in prison for the extermination of Jews in Starodub [5] .
