Uspenka is a village in the Volokonovsky district of the Belgorod region of Russia. It is part of the Pokrovsky rural settlement .

Geography
The village is located in the eastern part of the Belgorod region, on both banks of the Tikhaya Sosny River (the right tributary of the Don ), 14.3 km in a straight line to the northeast from the regional center of Volokonovka .
History
Name Origin
In the XVIII century, the settlement Rodionovka (later Uspenka) belonged to the captain Rodion Shidlovsky, the ancestor of the Sidlovsky's fiber branch [2] .
Historical Review
In 1859 - Biryuchensky district "Assumption settlement (Rodionovka) near the Tikhaya Sosna River", "along the highway to the city of Kharkov " - 60 yards, a church.
In the 1920s, a credit partnership was organized in Uspenka, through which the state provided peasants with money loans, implements, varietal seeds, and pedigree cattle.
In 1927, the partnership in Uspenka received the first tractor.
Since July 1928, the settlement of Uspenka in the Volokonovsky district has been the center of the Assumption Village Council: the settlements of Alekseyevka and Uspenka itself, the village of Krasnoye Gorodishche and the village of Novoselovka and Sharapov.
In December 1929, the Red Vyborzhets agricultural cartel began to be created in Uspenka, and at the end of 1930, the Kalinin collective farm. In Uspenka, tractor driver courses were run, which were completed by 20 people, including three women.
In the 1950s, the settlement of Uspenka was in the Pokrovsky village council of the Volokonovsky district.

Population
In 1859, there were 748 inhabitants in the settlement (376 men, 372 women).
As of January 1, 1932, there were 1172 inhabitants in the settlement of Uspenska.
According to censuses in the village of Uspenka on January 17, 1979, there were 720 inhabitants, on January 12, 1989 - 514 (208 men, 306 women), on January 1, 1994 - 204 households and 511 residents.
In 1997, there were 198 households and 475 inhabitants in the village of Uspenka, the Pokrovsky rural district, and 521 inhabitants in 1999 [2] .

Infrastructure
As of 1995, in the village of Uspenka there was a district hospital, the House of Culture, a branch of the district library, and an incomplete secondary school [2] .
Interesting Facts
The first owner of the Assumption, captain R.M. Szydlowski was in 1719 the commandant of the historic city of Polatov .
