Munir Fatmi is a Moroccan artist, he was born in 1970 in Tangier, Morocco. He lives and works between Paris and Tangier.

biography
Munir Fatmi is a visual artist who works with installations, video, painting, collage, sculpture and performance. In his works he uses mostly obsolete and obsolete technological materials, such as old videotapes, antenna cables, materials related to the language, the past, to the memory.
Career
The work of Munir Fatmi was exhibited in museums, art galleries and festivals in Europe, USA, Africa and Asia. He participated in several Biennials of Contemporary Art, including the 52nd and 57th Venice Biennale [4] , the 5th and 7th Dakar Biennale [5] , the 10th Lyon Biennale and the 7th Biennale of Architecture in Shenzhen . [6] . He won several prizes, including the Prix de la Biennale du Caire and the Léopold Sedar Senghor Grand Prix during the 7th Dakar Biennale. In 2013, his work was selected for the Victoria Jameel Award and the Albert Museum in London. [7] [8]
In 2017, Munir Fatmi becomes part of the Louvre collection in Abu Dhabi [9]
