Tagima-no Kahaya

Tagima-no Kekhai ( Jap. 当 麻 蹴 速 ) is a folklore character, a legendary Japanese fighter.

Legend

According to the legend of “ Nippon Shoki, ” he was a great strongman who praised that he was supposedly the strongest on earth below heaven. Emperor Suynin ordered to find someone who could defeat him, and Nomi-no Sukune was brought to him, with whom Tagim had met in battle, but he was too strong and immediately broke his ribs with a kick, and when he fell, he split his back kicked, and the Emperor rewarded him with a plot of land from the domain of the Tagim he killed

Direct description of their duel:

Seventh year, autumn, seventh month. On the seventh day, the emperor’s confidants said: “There is a brave man from the village of Tagima, his name is Tagima-no Kehaya. This man can break horns with his strength, straighten fishing hooks, and constantly boast around crowds: “I was looking in all four directions of the world, how can anyone compare to me in strength? Anyway, I want to meet a strong man and measure themselves by forces regardless of life or death. " The emperor heard this and turned to the court: "I heard about Tagimo Kahai, is there anyone in the kingdom who can compare with him?" One of the ministers replied: "I heard there is a brave man in Izumo , Nomi-no Sukune is called. Try calling him - he will want to go against him [1] ." On the same day, the ancestor of atai [2] Yamato , Nagoti, was sent for Nomi no Sukune. Finally, then Nomi-no Sukune came from Izumo, then Nomi-no Sukune and Tagime-no Kehai were ordered to try their strength. Both began to sumo , raised their legs and put them on each other. Then Nomi-no Sukune kicked Tagimu-no Kahai around the ribs and broke them, then stepped on the hip part with a sweep, broke it and killed him. Thus, Tagima-no Kekhai lost the land, and they gave Nomi-no Sukune as a reward. Therefore, the village was named Kosiorda [3] . Nomi-no Sukune remained to serve at the Imperial Court [4] .
