St. Peter’s Church ( Ger. St. Petrus or German. St. Petri [1] ) - a Protestant village church in the Dorn district of the city of Gera ; the building of the temple, which is a monument of architecture , was built in the XII century and rebuilt in the XVII.

History
The church building in the village of Dorn (today a district of the “independent city”, German. Kreisfreien , Gera ) was supposedly built in the 12th century: researchers draw this conclusion based on the shape of two windows on the eastern side of the building, typical of the architecture of the period. In the 16th century, a two-section ribbed vault was added to a substantially rebuilt church building, and around 1600 a font was installed. On the south side of the building, a “richly decorated” department was also installed, which in 1681 was supplemented with a ceiling canopy ( aba-voa ).
In the 17th century, additional changes were made to the interior of the church, connected with the expansion of galleries and the creation of empor . At the end of the XIX century, in 1889, the church of St. Peter was both renovated and restored. According to the data for 2016, the church community belonged to the parish of Pölzig , Dorn, Reubsen and Roshutz, the central German branch of the Evangelical Church of Germany (EKD). In the area there is a movement for the preservation of the church, which is an urban architectural monument [1] .
