Career

Soccer Player

Giuseppe Pillon is a pupil of Juventus . However, he failed to get into the main structure of the “Old Signora”. [1] The midfielder was forced to spend most of his career at the Serie C1 and C2 clubs.

Coach

Having become mentors, Pillon achieved success with Treviso . In just three years, he traveled with a team from Series D to Series B. For such a breakthrough, the coach received the Silver Bench .

Then the specialist worked with a number of Series B teams, until in 2005 he received an offer to lead Chievo . Already in the debut season, the “flying donkeys” led by Pillon took an unprecedentedly high seventh place in Serie A , which, after the corruption scandal of Calciopoli, turned into the fourth, giving the right to play in the Champions League . However, the next season at Pillon went wrong at the helm of Chievo. In the qualification of the Champions League, the Bulgarian team “ Levski ” (0: 2, 2: 2) knocked out the team and after an unsuccessful start the coach lost his place in the club Luigi Delneri .

In December 2008, the specialist returned to Serie A, replacing Nevio Orlandi as Regina's mentor. [2] However, he spent only four rounds on the team’s head coach. In them she scored just one point and Pillon was replaced by all the same Orlandi. [3]

In 2010, the specialist headed Livorno [4] , but he could not return the club to the elite. Pillon then worked with several Serie B clubs. In April 2018, he changed Zdenek Zeman at the helm of Pescara . [five]
