History
The name of the commune is derived from the Latin Tintinius and the suffix -ac , which means affiliation; literally translated from Latin "Tintinius estate". The settlement was first mentioned in documents in 1032, although the first traces of a person's stay in this place belong to the Neolithic . The representative of the family that owned the seignoria Tentenyak, Vincent de Tentenyak, was one of the leaders of the Shuans and the organizers of the landing on the Quiberon peninsula in June-July 1795, during which he was killed.
Unlike his lord, the commune population enthusiastically greeted the French Revolution , and since 1795 marks the main revolutionary holidays - the anniversary of the execution of King Louis XVI with the oath of hatred to the king and anarchy, as well as the anniversary of the founding of the Republic.
